This year, the IEEE|CBU Student Branch is sending 11 members to attend the SoutheastCon 2011 conference and competitions. The members attending are: Nate Phillips, Wani Hakim, Lindsey Hodges, Martin Tribo, Steven Menezes, Raymond Bedrossian, Max Karimnia, Shilpa Appurubugatha, Adam Tekel, Sean Dantis, Patrick McGinnis.
SoutheastCon is an annual IEEE Region 3
Technical, Professional, and Student Conference. As the premier
conference for the IEEE Region that encompasses the Southeastern United
States and includes the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, areas of
Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina,
Tennessee, Virginia, and the country of Jamaica, it brings Electrical
and Computer Engineering, Computer Science professionals, faculty and
students to share the latest information through technical sessions,
tutorials, professional development sessions, and exhibits. It is the
most influential conference in Region 3 for promoting awareness of the
technical contributions made by our profession to the advancement of
engineering science and to the community which ties into our theme this
year, “Engineers Making the World a Better Place.” Attendance and
technical program participation from areas outside IEEE Region 3 is
welcomed and encouraged.
When: This year, SoutheastCon will be
held between March 17-20, 2011.
