Officers Election Meeting Minutes

IEEE Minutes (IEEE Election Day)
04/15/10

Yesterday, we held our annual officers election in room N241 at 12:30PM. We discussed realigning the department's objectives, SoutheastCon, and what have been achieved this year.Candidates presented their speech; then votes were taken anonymously.

I. ECE Curriculum: Dr. Ventura

    a) We are being accredited this year and consequently we are realigning our objectives.   
    b) We would like to better define how we are going to measure some of these outcomes
        (Example of oral presentation is given)   
    c) Dr. Ventura requested input from students.

II. Year in review
    a) S-PAC
        1. Good turn out- roughly 100 people.
        2. Learned how to deal with the tough economy and had several sponsors.   
b) Month of Zen
        1) Very successful, had over 20 clients.
        2) We spread our reputation and name, and made some money which helped fund SoutheastCon.   
c) Southeast Con
        1) Participated in robotics competition this year.
        2) Enjoyed excellent food, at a wonderful banquet.
        3) Participated in all events this year with our software team placing 8 out of 16 teams.
        4) Won first place in the website and t-shirt competitions.

IEEE  Elections:
Presidential Candidates: Steven Menezes and Khai Nguyen: Winner- Steven Menezes
Vice Chair Candidates: Linda Truong and Sarah Kelly: Winner- Linda Truong
Secretary Candidates: Shilpa Appurubugatha and Drew Wellman: Winner- Shilpa Appurubugatha
Treasurer Candidates: Khai Nguyen and Drew Wellman: Winner- Khai Nguyen

IV) Summer Opportunity:
    a) Teaching students VISIO over the summer.

V) IEEE is donating  $994 to the Microprocessors class to help fund for new dragon board kits.
