BINH NGUYENChair of Student Branch Binh is a Senior Electrical Engineering major. He was born in Vietnam and left for the United States of America at eight years old. He attended Memphis Catholic High School and graduated in 2006 as class Valedictorian. He held an internship with Johns Hopkins University last summer as a Teaching Assistant in Electrical Engineering at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA. This summer, Binh will continue the internship with JHU at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in Hong Kong. Binh is actively involved in professional organizations such as IEEE, Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, and Alpha Chi National College Honor Society. He will graduate from Christian Brothers University, summa cum laude, in May 2010. Binh will attend Rochester Institute of Technology for MS in Telecommunications Engineering Technology in Fall 2010. RUSSEL SALIENDRAVice Chair of Student Branch Russel is a Senior Electrical Engineering major. He grew up in Manila, Philippines and moved to Memphis, TN to earn his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering. His hobbies include playing musical instruments such as the guitar, electric bass and drums, and digital photography. Occasionally, he takes photos for the School of Engineering. He is also a member of the Mathematical Association of America and Tau Beta Pi. | |

SARAH KELLYSecretary of Student BranchSarah is a Sophomore in Electrical Engineering. She graduated from Bolton High School. She is a member of the Christian Brother's Honors Program. She is actively involved in professional organizations such as Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Mathematical Association of America (MAA). Outside of school, she works a camp counselor for Kia Kima Scout Reservation. Sarah plans to graduate in May 2012. | |

PATRICK LOUIETreasurer of Student BranchPatrick is an Electrical Engineering major who grew up in Bartlett, TN. He is a member of CBU's Honors Program, Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity, and the Mathematical Association of America. He has done a variety of jobs ranging from washing cars and cutting pizzas to being an HVAC assistant technician and Network Integration intern. Patrick spends his spare time learning about musical instruments, website design, and neurology. Outside of class, he enjoys playing sports and exercising, attending city sponsored events, and roaming bookstores. Upon graduation in 2010, Patrick will seek a career in either communication systems or control systems. | |

DR. JOHN VENTURACBU Student Branch Counselor Dr. John Ventura is the Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at CBU. He graduated in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Christian Brothers College and earned a Masters in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida in 1967. He has a Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and currently holds licenses in the following states: Tennessee - Professional Engineer (retired) and Mississippi - Professional Engineer and Land Surveyor. John is a senior member in IEEE, serves as the IEEE student advisor at CBU, and serves as the student coordinator for the Memphis Section of IEEE . |
